Back on 17th April of this year, I established Emerald Health & Safety Services joining the Emerald Project Management and Quantity Surveying business.
I’m feeling very proud of how far I’ve come in a relatively short time, supported by James, Kevin and the guys at Emerald PM, and my family and friends. I also have to express a great deal of gratitude to my network of former colleagues and contacts who have assisted me to find my feet with a great portfolio of project work going forwards into 2019 and beyond!
Getting myself out there at regional business networking events is really helping me too, so a big thanks to the #4Networking gang too!!
For those that know me well, my year started pretty poorly, taking a gamble which didn’t pay off, in fact it nearly broke me. But what happened next that day back in March shook us all. On Tuesday 13th March dad was taken ill at the Villa vs. QPR match. “Things happen for a reason” my nan would have said, and I was able to give my family the support to get dad the best possible care.
Suffering myself with anxiety and depression I feel able to shout out loud, Mental Health REALLY sucks! But at least now 6 months in, I stand proud and say with confidence, now I’m running my own business, building my income steadily, I feel much better and stronger with my own self-worth, and, I like to think I’m doing a pretty good job of it too!. (Believe me, that’s a big thing for me to say).
